The president’s gone mad, but who could blame him? A mysterious race of sentient pandas with curious powers has burst onto the world stage, and they’re turning the whole planet upside down. That’s just fine with Dramedy, though. Anything to spice up her dreary life as a court clerk.
That’s exactly what Dramedy gets when she’s tapped to serve on a secret court in America’s War on Pandas. The pandas are determined to reverse world economic growth in order to save the planet; but President Gripp, convinced he’s receiving commands from a deity known only as “the Market,” is ready to plunge the entire world into nuclear war to foil their plans.
Now it’s up to Dramedy to stop him. She is joined by Jack and Carrie, two young Americans taken captive by pandas while journeying home from their work in Africa. Together, they must appeal to the pandas for peace. That means journeying deep within the Hindu Kush to the secret city of Pandalama, in the remote, mountainous realm of Pandastan.
The Pandastan Trilogy explores our human civilization, bent on self-destruction, alongside an evolved society of mystic pandas who intervene to prevent planetary environmental collapse. Having developed the ability to tap into the nonphysical fields of existence through mental discipline, the pandas devote their powers to preserving a living future for all the inhabitants of Earth. But unless they can convince humanity to change its ways willingly, their powers will not be enough to prevail.
The tale follows a small group of ordinary Americans who unexpectedly find themselves at the juncture between human and panda worlds. Each of them must confront the challenge of finding a meaningful approach to life in a world that’s headed on a collision course with disaster. Only a revolution in human consciousness seems to offer any hope. They turn to the pandas for teachings in mind, spirit, and love, seeking to apply this wisdom in service of a healed age.

"Just finished reading this marvelously written book. It deals with all the thoughts one has on thinking through Capitalism and rampant materialism and it's effect on society. It is insightfully written and shows us a portrait of our society we don't really want to look at. The side that interned Japanese civilians, the Red scare, McCarthyism, this time has to react to the threat of Pandas. As I read it, I kept thinking about Animal Farm by George Orwell, and Dr. Strangelove. The book is an excellent read from beginning to end. I am at present anxiously awaiting the arrival of book number 2, which I ordered yesterday. In todays bewildering political developments, this trilogy will put it all into focus!Product details

The trilogy is an entertaining look at some of the serious problems we face in today's world. It's a mix of Dr Strangelove and the constant battle between profits and human values. In that sense it reminds me of The Lord of the Rings. The author's use of Pandas as benevolent and semi powerful creatures smacks of the fantasy of "the Force" in Star Wars. In the midst of all this, there are insightful conversations between the various characters, which speak to the out of control nature our economic and political system have become. In addition to all this, it's a good read, with an ever evolving plot that carries from volume to volume.
