This book is filled with everything you need to know to start your own dog walking or pet sitting business - how to impress clients, the proper way to act on the job, setting up a website, the best ways to get more clients - and I'm only halfway through!
If you're looking to start a business in this field and can only get one book, I would absolutely say to make it this one.

I started a pet care business in 2009 in Los Angeles and Josh Schermer - through this amazing and easy to read book - became my "mentor" and I give him some of the credit to my success. Any questions one might have as to getting started and what issues may arise are addressed here and having started Downtown Pets in New York, he has the experience and know how. If you are serious of becoming a dog walker or starting a pet sitting business I urge you to look no further.
An real case description. Very complete, give a lot of tips for you that want to open a dog business.
I am starting my own small business and this book was highly recommended. It helped me immensely and I will definitely recommend this book
"Bible" is the right title for this book. Mr. Schermer hasn't missed a beat. If you're planning to become a professional dog walker, this is the right instruction manual. Everything is here and then some!
Good Tips, very useful
This book has a lot of good info in it. I would give it 5 stars if that was my only criteria for grading it. The thing is, there are spelling mistakes, grammatical mistakes, and even mistakes where the author used the wrong word. For instance, he once used "waste" when he meant "waist". When I pay $27 for a book, at least the book should have been proofread. I am 2/3 of the way done and have spotted at least 10 mistakes. Also, much of the book is fluff.
The author recommends going to Staples for office supplies. Really? I never would have guessed I could buy office supplies at Staples. He also recommends Microsoft Office for his office needs. Gee.... again, I never would have thought of that. He does things like that so often that I was expecting him to tell me to use a #2 pencil.
That said, there really is some great info in this book. I am in the process of opening my dog walking business, and there are some seriously good ideas in this book. I won't be using many of his ideas though, as I plan to keep my business a one man business, and also part time. This book is better suited for those who want to grow a business. I took off one star for the poor proofreading. I'm sorry, but when you buy a book from a "professional", it should read like a "professional" wrote it.
